Marketplace Events Acquires Atlanta Shows

Solon, Oh. – May 7, 2018 – Marketplace Events, the largest producer of business-to-consumer home shows in North America, announced today the purchase of three Atlanta home shows from SEMCO Productions LLC.  Marketplace Events CEO Tom Baugh labeled the development as “highly strategic”.

Two events take place at the Cobb Galleria Centre (The Spring Atlanta Home Show and Fall Atlanta Home Show & Outdoor Living Expo) and one at the Infinite Energy Center in Gwinnett County (The North Atlanta Home Show & Outdoor Living Expo in February). “For more than 40 years, SEMCO has been synonymous with Atlanta and home shows” explained Baugh.  “The Atlanta market is influential and only getting bigger.  For MPE to have a significant footprint, it’s clearly a major development for our company.  We look forward to applying our resources to grow these shows to another level.”

“As the largest producer of consumer home shows in North America, Marketplace Events will use their vast industry experience to enhance this 40 year old Atlanta tradition in many ways,” said SEMCO President Michael Schoppenhorst. “I am most certain the Atlanta Home Shows will thrive and prosper under their direction and leadership.”

The acquisition brings the Marketplace Events portfolio to 64 events in 29 markets including 39 US home shows, 16 Canadian home shows and nine holiday shows.  This makes 23 shows Marketplace Events has launched or acquired since the company was purchased by Sentinel Capital Partners in February of 2016.
